Our History

Martha Daugherty

H. L. (Hack) Daugherty
1917 - 2001

Warren Farm Supply was founded in March, 1939 by H.L. (Hack) Daugherty as a retail farm equipment dealership selling the J.I. Case farm equipment line in Warren, IN.   Studebaker automobiles were added a short time later. Starting in a storefront in Warren, and moving in 1944 to a block building at the edge of Warren, Hack and Martha Daugherty were active in business for 60 years.  Additional lines added to the dealership included New Idea, New Holland, Massey-Harris and Ferguson. Shortly after World War II, Westinghouse appliances and Shell Oil Products were added.  Mr. Daugherty became a manufacturer's representative in the mid-fifties, and sold the retail establishment in 1957. Beginning with Schwartz Mfg. Co. of Lester Prairie, MN and Lakeshore Mfg. Co.(Cropguard Dryers) of Minneapolis, MN, the wholesale business covered Indiana and Kentucky.

The business was expanded into a distributorship in the early sixties, and a son, David L. Daugherty joined the company in 1964.  He is the current owner and president of the company. Over the years, the products and lines have changed from time to time, but the company has remained committed to serving their customer base with quality products and friendly, efficient service. In more recent years, the company has evolved back from a distributorship to a manufacturer's representative agency, covering the states of Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky. A division, Agri Motive Products manufacturers and distributes electronic seed monitoring products, wiring harness and other agricultural electronic devices.
